A true hidden gem just two hours from Las Vegas is the Nevada State park, Valley of Fire. The scenery is extraordinary. There is a great campsite and some easy walks into the desert including a slot canyon. If you have a day available you can have a high quality experience just by renting a car and driving from Vegas.

I’m noticing how noisy airplanes are. Now that they are rare, the odd time I hear one it is really loud. Have you found this?
And then I got thinking that my grandson who is having his first birthday has probably never seen an airplane. Imagine

The heron stands still waiting for another morsel. The ducks just tuck in their heads for the night. All seem oblivious to that incredible colour in which they are marinating.
